RIYADH — The capital city of Riyadh witnessed heavy rains accompanied by showers of hail on Wednesday.

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) warned that heavy rain, accompanied by thunderstorms, would continue until 10:00 in the evening. Rain will experience in the areas of Al-Hariq, Diriyah, Al-Kharj, Al-Rayn, Al-Muzahimiyah, Huraymila, Hotat Bani Tamim, Durma, and Murat in the region.

A video clip being circulated on social media documented the moment of heavy rain, accompanied by showers of hail, in the Olaya neighborhood in central Riyadh. The center indicated that rain will be accompanied by surface winds, hail, torrents, and a lack of visibility.

It is noteworthy that the recent NCM forecast showed that weather fluctuations and moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to witness in most regions of Saudi Arabia, including Riyadh this week.
