Saudi Gazette report

MAKKAH — The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has allocated several prayer areas for people with disabilities and elderly women at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.

The Assistant Agency for Women's Social, Voluntary and Humanitarian Services works to prepare and provide all facilities inside the prayer areas that have been allocated for women visitors of all categories to perform their rituals with ease and comfort.

The prayer areas have been determined for each category, of which some are allocated for those who use wheelchairs. Several arrangements have been made for the visually challenged visitors. They include white walking sticks, electronic and paper copies of the Holy Qur'an in Braille, flexible holders for the Qur'an and the pen reader.

The presidency has also organized the entry and exit of women and their families to guarantee that there is no crowding. This is alongside several Qur'an and religious lessons, as well as the translation of Friday sermons in sign language, and distribution of barcodes of duas (supplications), fatwas (religious edicts), and adhkar (words of remembrance).
