MADINAH — Medical teams at Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah have managed to save the life of an Indonesian pilgrim who suffered a cardiac arrest at the airport's departure hall.

The airport health control center received the 73-year-old pilgrim, who became unconscious after her heart stopped breathing, while she was at the international departure hall.

The medical teams immediately performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to the pilgrim, which led to the return of spontaneous blood circulation and pulse and an increase in the oxygen level to 90% after three cycles of resuscitation.

The teams carried out the required medical checkups after the patient's condition stabilized, in addition to providing her with necessary medical care and a treatment plan.

The health control center at Madinah airport received a total of 6,696 patients in the first 10 days of Ramadan.
