US, UAE discuss shared commitment to peace in Yemen

WASHINGTON/ ABU DHABI — US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan discussed shared commitment to peace in Yemen.

This came during a phone call between the two sides Sunday, said Secretary Department Principal Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel.

Blinken emphasized the urgency of de-escalating tensions between Israelis and Palestinians, reiterating the continued US commitment to the two-state solution.

He also noted that his country will continue to consult closely with partners on how to advance regional security, stability, and prosperity.

The two leaders also reviewed the latest developments in the Middle East.

The UAE's top diplomat emphasized the importance of stopping the escalation of violence between Palestinians and Israelis.

He called for the world to work to push forward the region's paths of peace and stability for the prosperity and well-being of its peoples.

The two top diplomats also addressed regional and global developments, as well as efforts to maintain world peace and security. — Agencies
