Saudi, Dutch FMs exchange views on Russia-Ukraine crisis

JEDDAH — Saudi and Dutch foreign ministers exchanged views on the Russian-Ukrainian crisis during a meeting in Saudi Arabia on Thursday.

Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan received Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Netherlands Wopke Hoekstra in Jeddah.

During the meeting, they reviewed aspects of the Saudi-Dutch relations in many areas of cooperation, and ways to support and develop them to serve common interests and achieve more prosperity for the two friendly countries and peoples.

The two sides also exchanged views on international efforts aimed at resolving the Russian-Ukrainian crisis politically to achieve international peace and security. They also discussed several issues and developments in the regional and international arenas.

Upon his arrival in Saudi Arabia, Hoekstra said the Kingdom plays a crucial role in the region and is an important partner for them on topics such as security, climate change and sustainable energy.

“The Saudi reform agenda Vision 2030 offers good starting points for the Netherlands to promote social and sustainable economic changes,” he wrote on Twitter.
