RIYADH — Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and US Foreign Secretary Antony Blinken discussed on Saturday the ongoing situation in Sudan during a phone call.

During the call, the three sides stressed the importance of stopping the military escalation and returning to the framework agreement, in a way that guarantees the security and stability of Sudan and its people.

Clashes broke out between Sudanese army and paramilitary forces as talks aiming to reach a final political agreement had recently failed. The agreement was supposed to allow the Rapid Support Forces to merge into the Sudanese army and form a civil government. — SG
