MADINAH — Over 1.26 million passengers benefited from the frequent transportation service to transport worshipers and visitors to and from the Prophet’s Mosque during the period from the first of Ramadan until the 27th of the holy month, the Al-Madinah Region Development Authority has revealed.
The Authority has harnessed the bus fleet within the Madinah Buses system to serve the families and visitors through 6 lanes.
It has also increased the operational capacity during the last 10 days of Ramadan via expanding the working hours to implement the frequency service to the beneficiaries daily until after the Tahajjud prayer by half an hour.
This is aimed to achieve easy access to the Prophet’s Mosque, and enhance the flow of traffic within the central area.
It is noteworthy that the Authority aims in cooperation with all the government authorities and the volunteering teams to expand the beneficiaries circle from the public transportation services in Madinah.
It also aims to enhance the traffic flow in the main roads, reduce the level of the environmental pollution resulting from vehicle exhausts in roads and the areas surrounding the central area.
It came in order to increase the quality of transportation, adjust the life’s quality of Madinah’s residents and visitors.
