JEDDAH — Saudi Arabia continued its massive evacuation operation for its citizens and other nationals from war-torn Sudan.

A new batch of 187 evacuees belonging to at least 25 nationalities arrived in Jeddah aboard the Saudi vessel HMS Taif on Thursday.

The evacuees included people from the Netherlands, Russia, Lebanon, Norway, the US, Turkey, Serbia, Poland, Germany, India, Georgia, Thailand, Bangladesh, Sweden, Uzbekistan, the UK, Ireland, Kenya, the Philippines, Ethiopia, Armenia, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, Paraguay, and Pakistan.

The Kingdom has worked to provide all essential needs to the evacuees while facilitating their departure to their respective home countries. The total number of people evacuated from Sudan since the operation began reached approximately 2544. They included 119 Saudi citizens and 2425 individuals belonging to 74 nationalities.

Thursday's operation comes in continuation of the evacuation efforts made by Saudi Arabia under the directives of the Kingdom's leadership.
