RIYADH — GCC Secretary-General Jasem Al-Budaiwi affirmed on Sunday the Council's keenness on Sudan's security, safety and stability and supporting it in facing all challenges to achieve the aspirations of its people.

Al-Budaiwi made the remark during a reception held at GCC headquarters in Riyadh for Special Envoy of the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council in Sudan Ambassador Dafallah Al-Haj Ali.

Al-Budaiwi called on all sides to calm down, prioritize national interest and halt all forms of military escalation.

Al-Budaiwi also praised all humanitarian roles played by Saudi Arabia, the GCC and Arab countries and all international and regional efforts that aim to achieve security and stability and to end the crises in Sudan.

In a, earlier statement, Al-Budaiwi renewed the call on the conflicting parties in Sudan to halt all military actions, prioritizing instead the interest of the Sudanese people in what stability brings on. — Agencies
