RIYADH — Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken discussed the developments of the Saudi-US initiative to host the Sudanese conflicting parties in Jeddah during a phone call on Friday.

The initiative aims on reducing the tension level in Sudan. The Saudi-US initiative would prepare a necessary ground for dialogue in a way that ensures the stability and security of Sudan and its people.

During the phone call, they discussed the situation's development in the war-torn Sudan. They affirmed the importance of stopping the military escalation between the conflicting parties, as well as ending the violence.

The two foreign ministers have also discussed the aspects of Saudi Arabia and the United States bilateral relations, and the prospects for cooperation between them in various fields.

The topics of common interest were also discussed during the call.
