CAIRO — Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Bin Abdullah, participated in the Arab League’s Ministerial Meeting on the situation in Sudan, in Cairo.
During the meeting, the developments in the Republic of Sudan were discussed, in addition to stressing the importance of stopping the military escalation between the conflicting parties and ending the violence.
The meeting also reviewed developments in the Saudi-US initiative to host representatives of the conflicting Sudanese parties in Jeddah on May 6, which aims to pave the way for dialogue and reduce the level of tension in a way that guarantees the security and stability of Sudan.
Prince Faisal also participated in the Ministerial Meeting on the developments of the Syrian crisis.
During the meeting, the attendees consulted and exchanged views on the efforts made to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis that ends its repercussions and preserves Syria’s unity, security, stability, and Arab identity; returns it to its Arab surroundings, to achieve the good of its brotherly people.
The meeting also reviewed the results of the consultative meeting on Syria held in Jeddah in April 2023, and the meeting of the ministerial contact group on Syria held in Amman in May 2023.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Multilateral Affairs, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Rassi, and the Director-General of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Office, Abdulrahman Al-Dawood, also attended the meeting.
