JEDDAH —
The Saudi Civil Defense Authority has brought under control a massive fire that hit Jeddah’s Al-Sawarikh Market.

“Preventive measures were implemented with the cooling work being carried out,” the Saudi Civil Defense tweeted in Arabic.

The huge fire erupted in the market in the southern part of Jeddah early Friday, but no injuries were reported.

The market, known for offering goods at very low prices compared to shopping malls in the city, sold a diverse array of merchandise.
