DAMMAM A girl student sustained serious injuries after falling from second floor of a school in Qaryat Al-Ulya in the Eastern Province on Tuesday. The condition of the student is reported to be stable while the authorities started investigation into the incident.

The student’s father said that her daughter was found unconscious, lying in a pool of blood in the backyard of the school. He said that the school security guard found her at the end of a search after all other girl students of the elementary school had left the school premises.

The girl, who is the second year student of the elementary school, was transferred first to Qaryat Al-Ulya General Hospital, and then to Nairiyah General Hospital.

Saeed Al-Bahes, spokesman of the education department in the Eastern Province, said that the health condition of the student, who was transferred to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment, was stable. An investigation is underway into the incident, he added.
