JEDDAH — Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad Ahmed Attaf have signed an agreement to establish the Saudi-Algerian Supreme Coordination Council.
By establishing the joint council, the two countries aim to expand bilateral relations and strengthen their cooperation in all areas.
The agreement was signed during the meeting of the fourth session of the Saudi-Algerian Political Consultations Committee, which was presided over by the ministers. The meeting was held in Jeddah, where Prince Faisal bin Farhan earlier received Attaf and his delegation.
During the meeting, they discussed the strong fraternal relations between Saudi Arabia and Algeria and their people. They explored ways to enhance and develop bilateral relations in a manner that will benefit both countries.
Also, they discussed regional and international developments and joint efforts to promote international security and peace.
In addition, they discussed the possibility of stepping up bilateral and multilateral coordination. The ministers also talked about enhancing joint efforts to address various regional and international issues to strengthen stability and prosperity for all.
Dr. Sami Al-Saleh, Assistant Minister of State for Arab and African Countries' Affairs, Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Busairi, Saudi Ambassador to Algeria, and Fahd Al-Harthi, Director General of the General Administration of the Secretariats of Councils and Committees, attended the meeting. — SPA
