RIYADH — Saudi Arabia's Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman has confirmed the Kingdom's continued support to the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni people.
Prince Khalid has also affirmed Saudi Arabia's support for the efforts of the UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg to reach a comprehensive and sustainable political solution in Yemen that ensures stability and growth in the country.
The minister's confirmation came during his meeting with the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council of the Republic of Yemen Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, who received Prince Khalid at his residence during his current visit to Saudi Arabia.
Prince Khalid conveyed to Dr. Al-Alimi and the members of the Leadership Council the greetings of Saudi Arabia's leadership, and expressed their hope for Yemen and its people to achieve security and stability.
Prince Khalid noted that the meeting came within the directives of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
From his side, Dr. Al-Alimi praised the Kingdom's efforts and its economic, developmental and humanitarian support, in addition to its endeavor to alleviate the sufferings of the Yemeni people in all governorates of the country.
He also praised the great role that Saudi Arabia plays in the ceasefire and the revival of the political process to reach a comprehensive solution in Yemen in accordance with the agreed references both nationally and internationally under the supervision of the United Nations.
