Saudi Gazette report
RIYADH — The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) stated on Wednesday that there are still chances for moderate to heavy thunderstorms accompanied with active winds and hail to occur in several regions of Saudi Arabia.
The regions that will witness the weather fluctuations are parts of Jazan, Najran, Asir, Al-Baha and Makkah, NCM said, noting that the moderate to heavy thunderstorms may lead to torrential rain.
NCM stated the parts of Al-Jouf, Tabuk, Madinah, Hail, Al-Qassim, Riyadh and Al-Sharqiyah regions are expecting to be witnessing thunderstorms with active dusty winds that limit horizontal visibility.
It is noteworthy that NCM had stated earlier that most regions of Saudi Arabia will witness weather fluctuations that will last until Thursday, May 25.
The General Directorate of Civil Defense called on Sunday for the public to take utmost caution and vigil against thunderstorms that are likely to hit most regions of the Kingdom, starting from Sunday until Thursday.
