AL-QUNFUDAH — A Saudi gunman opened fire on security men while being arrested along with 2 other citizens, during a raid on a den. They were arrested for promoting the amphetamine drug in Al-Qunfudhah Governorate.

The security men responded by opening fire in order to neutralize the danger. Though there was exchange of fire, there were no injuries.

The security men indicated that they seized firearms and an amount of money that were in the possession of the accused.

The three suspects were arrested and legal measures were taken against them, and they were referred to the competent authority.

The security authorities called on all Saudi citizens, as well as residents, to report immediately if they have any information about any activities related to drug smuggling or promotion.

It noted that reporting these crimes is by contacting the numbers: 911 in the regions of Makkah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province, while: 999, in the rest of Saudi Arabia's regions.

The security authorities confirmed that they will handle all reports in complete confidentiality.
