SPDRY’s Al-Attas, UNDP’s Yemen rep discuss various aspects of cooperation

RIYADH — The Assistant Supervisor General of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen (SPDRY) Eng. Hassan Al-Attas held a meeting Monday in Riyadh with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Resident Representative for Yemen Zena Ali Ahmad and her accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, they discussed various aspects of cooperation between the two entities and focused on the priorities of the current stage.

The aim was to support the efforts of the Yemeni government and institutions in development and reconstruction projects that would benefit the Yemeni people and achieve sustainable and desired impacts on development projects and programs in Yemen.

Zena expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s efforts in the development and reconstruction of Yemen. She also commended the Kingdom’s support for the endeavors of the UNDP.

It is worth mentioning that the SPDRY has thus far implemented 229 development projects and initiatives in Yemen. These projects cover seven fundamental sectors: education, health, water, energy, transportation, agriculture, and fisheries.

Furthermore, SPDRY focuses on capacity building for government institutions and implementing development programs to benefit the Yemeni people. — SPA
