JEDDAH — Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman announced the signing of an executive plan for defense cooperation with the Turkish Minister of National Defense Yasar Guler.

Prince Khalid said in a statement on his Twitter account that Saudi Ministry of signed two contracts with the Turkish side to acquire drones. The acquisition contracts had been signed between the Saudi Ministry of Defense and the Turkish company Baykar for defense industries under which the ministry would acquire drones.

Prince Khalid said that the decision to enhance defense cooperation between the two countries comes in line with the directive and support from Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. This is also a culmination of the course of cooperation between the two friendly countries in the defense and military fields. “This is aimed at raising the readiness of the armed forces, and strengthening the Kingdom’s defense and manufacturing capabilities,” he said.
