RIYADH — Saudi Arabia expressed on Saturday its strong condemnation and dissatisfaction with the failure to take the necessary measures to prevent the recurrence of incidents of encroachment against Islamic sanctities.

In a statement carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it has indicated that the latest incidents of encroachment on Islamic sanctities was what an extremist group in Denmark had done in front of the Iraqi embassy in Copenhagen, which burned a copy of the Holy Qur’an, as well as raising slogans of hatred and racism against Islam and Muslims.

Therefore, the Ministry expressed in the strongest terms Saudi Arabia’s condemnation of these acts that call for violence and hatred between the religions.

Saudi Arabia warns from the recurrence of these provocative acts to the feelings of millions of Muslims across the world which is considered as flagrant violation of all international laws and norms.

It is noteworthy that Saudi Arabia had earlier summoned the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Sweden in Riyadh and handed him a protest note, which includes the Kingdom’s demand for the Swedish authorities to take immediate measures to halt such disgraceful acts that violate the sanctity of faith, international laws, and protocols.
