Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH — The General Directorate of Civil Defense has stressed the importance of preserving children's safety from danger inside the houses.

The Civil Defense asked house owners to be keen not to leave any sources that may cause fire accessible to children, such as stoves, gas cylinders and electrical appliances. It said power sockets must be covered to ensure the safety of electrical wires.

It emphasized the need to remove sharp tools, cleaning materials, and chemicals and place them in a place out of the reach of children. They should not be left alone in swimming pools, the Civil Defense said, adding that all steps must be taken to protect children from getting locked out in a place except in the presence of an observer, supervisor, or an adult.
