Saudi FM participates in meeting of contact group on Syria

CAIRO — Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan participated on Tuesday in a meeting of the ministerial contact group on Syria, which was held in Cairo, Egypt.

During the meeting, the ministers exchanged views on efforts exerted to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis, which would end all its repercussions.

The ministers stressed the importance of solving the humanitarian crisis in Syria and creating an appropriate environment for relief aid to reach all regions of the country.

It is important to create the necessary conditions for the refugees and displaced persons in their areas, ending their suffering, enabling them to return safely to their homeland and to take more procedures that would contribute to stabilizing the situation in the entire Syrian territory.

Saudi Arabia's delegation participating in the ministerial contact group meeting on Syria included the Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the Foreign Ministry, Dr. Saud Al-Sati, Saudi Arabia's Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States Abdulaziz Al-Matar, and the Director General of the Foreign Minister's Office, Abdulrahman Al-Dawood.
