RGA deploys drones to check on Riyadh roads

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia's Roads General Authority (RGA) has checked on a number of roads in Riyadh using drone technology.

RGA recently started to use drones to inspect and assess the road network, utilizing the latest technology that contributes to raising the level of road safety and maintenance.

The authority, which was approved by the cabinet in August of 2022, aims to regulate the road sector and work to achieve the objectives of the transport strategy, which is based on safety and quality.

Acting CEO of RGA Eng. Badr Al-Dulami who witnessed the tour with Eng. Tareq Al Shami, Deputy Minister of Transport for Road Operation and Maintenance, has directed the concerned agencies to intensify work to raise the level of maintenance and cleanliness, in a way that guarantees an upgrade of services provided to road users.
