RIYADH — Saudi Arabian football club Al-Nassr has made a significant move by finalizing the signing of Portuguese sensation Otávio Edmilson da Silva Monteiro from Porto.

The transfer has been confirmed, with Otávio committing to the club until 2026. In exchange for the player’s services, Porto is set to receive a substantial fee of around 60 million euros, as reported by Portuguese media outlets.

The announcement was shared on the club’s official social media platforms, stating, “Otávio is now officially part of the Al-Nassr family.”

Anticipated to bring a new level of strength and finesse to the team, Otávio’s versatility across midfield and wing positions is expected to add depth to Al-Nassr’s playing style.

Otávio made a significant impact during his time at Porto, earning the coveted title of Best Player of the Portuguese League for the 2022-2023 season.

His exceptional skills also earned him a spot in Portugal’s national team starting lineup during the 2022 World Cup.

Notably, Otávio’s connection with fellow countryman and football icon Cristiano Ronaldo, who captains Al-Nassr, adds a layer of excitement to the acquisition.

Their partnership on the Portuguese national team is expected to enhance the chemistry on the field.

As Al-Nassr continues to strive for success, the club has high hopes for Otávio’s contribution.

His addition is seen as a strategic move to bolster the team’s performance in both local and continental competitions, aligning with the club’s ambitions for a triumphant future.
