2023 FIFA Club World Cup draw reveals exciting matchups in Jeddah

— The draw for the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup was conducted on Tuesday in Jeddah, marking the final edition of the tournament in its current format.

The tournament's opening round will see Auckland City facing off against Al-Ittihad on Dec. 12, 2023.

The draw for the second round has produced the following matchups:

Egyptian giants Al-Ahly will take on the winner of the match between Saudi Arabia's Al-Ittihad and New Zealand's Auckland City.

Club León from Mexico will square off against Japan's Urawa Reds.

The winner of the clash between Al-Ahly and their opponent will advance to the semi-finals and face the champion of the South American Copa Libertadores.

Meanwhile, the winner of the match between Club León and Urawa Reds will meet English powerhouse Manchester City in the other semi-final.

All the competition's matches are set to take place in the city of Jeddah from December 12 to December 22.

Participating teams in the tournament include Al-Ahly (Egypt), Al-Ittihad (Saudi Arabia), Manchester City (England), Club León (Mexico), Auckland City (New Zealand), and Urawa Reds (Japan).

The South American representative, which will be determined in November, will complete the tournament's lineup.
