NEW YORK — Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met on Sunday with the United Nations Special Envoy for Syria, Geir Pedersen, on the sidelines of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest developments on finding a political solution to the Syrian crisis, and the efforts made by Saudi Arabia and the UN in this regard, including the outcomes of the Arab Summit in Jeddah.
Prince Faisal has confirmed the Kingdom's keenness to make all efforts to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis that preserves Syria’s unity, security, stability and Arab affiliation, and in a way that achieves progress for its people.
The meeting was attended by the Kingdom's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, and the Director General of the Foreign Minister's Office, Abdulrahman Al-Dawood.
