Saudi Arabia condemns Israeli provocation at Al-Aqsa Mosque

RIYADH Saudi Arabia condemned on Thursday the provocative practices carried out by an Israeli occupation official who stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, amid intense security deployment of the Israeli occupation forces.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom’s regret at the Israeli practices that undermine international peace efforts and contradict international principles and norms on respecting religious sanctities. The ministry emphasized that such practices are a blatant violation and provocation, offending the feelings of Muslims around the world.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held the Israeli occupation forces fully responsible for the repercussions of the continuation of such violations. It called on the international community to assume its responsibilities to end the escalation of the Israeli occupation, as well as to provide the necessary protection for the Palestinian civilians and make all efforts to end the conflict.

MWL denounces Israeli practice

Meanwhile, the Makkah-based Muslim World League (MWL) also denounced the storming of the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque by an Israeli official under high Israeli security.

In a statement issued by the General Secretariat, MWL condemned these provocative practices that violate the sanctity of the holy place, which represent a dangerous violation of international laws and norms and provoke the feelings of Muslims worldwide.

The MWL emphasized the need for joint efforts towards achieving a fair and comprehensive peace while ending any actions that hinder the chances of a solution in the occupied territories. The league reiterated its unwavering support for all initiatives aimed to resolve the Palestinian issue, stating that this is one of the most urgent concerns of the world Muslims.
