RIYADH — President Yoon Suk-Yeol of South Korea arrived in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, commencing a significant four-day state visit.
Welcomed at King Khalid International Airport by dignitaries including Deputy Governor of Riyadh Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman and Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih, President Yoon is set for a series of high-level engagements.
A summit with Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman is a highlight of the visit, marking almost a year since the Crown Prince's visit to Seoul in November 2022.
Last year's meeting resulted in the signing of 26 memorandums of understanding on projects valued at approximately $29 billion.
President Yoon is scheduled to participate in a South Korea-Saudi Arabia investment forum, deliver a lecture at King Saud University, and join a technology forum attended by scientists from both nations.
Notably, the visit includes an event commemorating 50 years of construction cooperation between South Korea and Saudi Arabia.
As a guest of honor at the annual Future Investment Initiative forum, President Yoon will elucidate South Korea's appeal as an investment partner.
The forum will provide a platform to discuss the present and future of cooperation between South Korea and the Middle East.
Accompanied by a robust 130-member business delegation, including industry leaders such as Samsung Electronics Executive Chairman Lee Jae-yong, Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung, and GS Group Chairman Huh Tae-soo, President Yoon's visit underscores the depth of economic collaboration between South Korea and Saudi Arabia.
