JEDDAH —
The Jeddah Municipality has confiscated 6 tons of fruit and vegetables that were displayed in illegal stalls.

The action by officers from the airport sub-municipality came within the framework of a campaign targeting illegal street vendors within Al-Safa neighborhood in Jeddah.

The Jeddah Municipality stated that its monitoring teams have carried out the campaign which resulted in confiscating fruit and vegetables displayed in make-shift stalls set up b7 street vendors in the vegetables market. The teams also seized 14 wooden carts used to transport the produce. They removed a number of stalls on the roads and sidewalks in the neighborhood.

The Jeddah Municipality carries out several campaigns at sites where random selling occurs. These campaigns aim to reduce the practice of random selling, improve the urban landscape, and increase compliance with health requirements.

The municipality praised the residents' contribution in improving the services by reporting on violations via Balady app, or by calling the unified center for reporting services at the emergency number 940.
