Saudi Arabia, Finland sign MoU to enhance strategic partnership to support digital economy growth

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia and Finland have signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of technology and communications, with the aim of strengthening the strategic partnership to support the digital economy and exchange experiences.

The MoU was signed by the Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah Bin Amer Al-Swaha and the Finnish Minister of Foreign Trade and Development, Ville Tavio at the MCIT’s headquarters in Riyadh.

Under the MoU that was signed by the Saudi and Finnish ministries, the two sides will cooperate in developing emerging technologies, Internet of things (IoT), cloud, new wireless network technologies, digital capacity development, in addition to the fields of government digital transformation and new technologies.

The Memorandum of Understanding will work on developing the joint programs, including capacity building, research projects, and joint research projects related to technology foresight.

This is in addition to coordinating the participation of private sectors in Saudi Arabia and Finland.
