JEDDAH — The Jeddah Governorate Municipality began spraying insecticide on places where water accumulated after the rains that the city witnessed during Friday and Saturday.

Insecticide were sprayed in 16 sub-municipalities through insect control teams, which are working to reach a level of environmental sanitation that includes reducing pests that threaten public health.

The municipality said that the efforts of the control team to combat insects are carried out daily according to a plan that covers all neighborhoods of Jeddah.

The plan is being conducted by 2,595 human cadres, 1,395 equipment and machinery, and 512 vehicles.

The field teams’ operations have been divided into 3 areas, including the northern area, the central area and the southern area.

Jeddah municipality stated that the spraying of insecticide is being carried out during the morning and evening periods.

The municipality has indicated that it uses insecticide to control public health pests, noting that the spraying process varied between high-pressure spraying, mist, and fog.

The insect control teams that were distributed to various targeted sites include field workers, as well as control teams who visit homes to spray insecticide.

There were also teams allocated to address water pools inside the courtyards and white lands, the municipality said.
