Saudi Arabia commends China's support for Gaza ceasefire

RIYADH
— Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan expressed appreciation to China for endorsing the United Nations resolution issued on Friday, October 27, 2023. The resolution called for an immediate ceasefire and urgent humanitarian truce in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Prince Faisal's acknowledgment came during a phone call with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi.

During the conversation, the two sides discussed the ongoing developments in Gaza and its surroundings, amidst the continued military escalation harming innocent civilians. They emphasized the importance of the international community taking responsibility for halting all military actions and returning to the path of a just and comprehensive solution for the Palestinian cause, ensuring international security and peace.

The discussions also covered bilateral relations and ways to enhance them to serve the aspirations of the two friendly nations. Additionally, they explored several other topics of mutual interest.
