RIYADH — Al-Hilal Club has announced that Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinković-Savić has suffered a knee injury, requiring 3 to 4 weeks of treatment.
The club is grappling with an injury crisis, with Milinković-Savić joining a list that includes Neymar, Salman Al-Faraj, Musab Al-Juwayr, and the suspended Robin Neves and Ali Al-Bulayhi.
Milinković-Savić sustained the injury during Al-Hilal's match against Al-Fateh in the local league last Friday.
The midfielder underwent radiological examinations on Sunday to determine the nature of the injury, which will keep him off the field for four weeks.
As a result, Milinković-Savić will miss the upcoming clash against Mumbai City in the fourth round of the AFC Champions League.
Additionally, he will be absent from the Serbian national team during the upcoming international break.
This setback marks Milinković-Savić's absence from four previous matches for Al-Hilal against Navbahor, Nassaji, Abha, and Al-Ettifaq.
He is also set to miss the matches against Al-Taawoun on the 10th and Al-Hazem on the 25th in the Saudi league, as well as the AFC Champions League encounter against Navbahor from Uzbekistan later this month.
Milinković-Savić is expected to make his return in the Riyadh Derby against Al-Nassr in the league on Dec. 1.
