RIYADH — Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, questioned how long the international community will continue to treat Israel as if it is above international law.

During his speech at the extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh, he expressed concern over the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza, condemning Israel's actions and the international community's failure to hold it accountable for war crimes.

The emir highlighted the alarming increase in immunity among countries claiming to uphold international law, witnessing their indifference to the indiscriminate killing of Palestinian civilians, including children and women, and the bombing of hospitals and shelters.

He criticized the international system for allowing justifications for such actions, such as the bombing of hospitals, to become commonplace.

Sheikh Tamim emphasized that Qatar remains steadfast in its historical support for the Palestinian people and their just cause, urging the international community to provide humanitarian aid to Gaza without obstacles or conditions.

He rejected the use of coercion in providing humanitarian aid and emphasized the need for UN teams to investigate Israeli claims used to justify hospital bombings.

The emir called for decisive action against the ongoing crimes in Gaza, stating that mere condemnations are not enough.

He stressed the importance of taking deterrent steps to stop Israel's continued aggression, as it not only threatens Arab and Islamic national security but also the national security of other countries.

Sheikh Tamim concluded his speech by reiterating the need for a sustainable solution based on international legitimacy, the Arab Peace Initiative, and the people's right to prosperity and self-determination in an independent state.

He commended Saudi Arabia for hosting the extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic summit during this crucial time in the region.
