RIYADH — Indonesian President Joko Widodo called for holding Israelis accountable for humanitarian crimes, allowing commissions and investigative committees into occupied areas.

During his address at the extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic summit, President Widodo emphasized the need for unified action within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

He affirmed his country's support for the extraordinary summit at this opportune moment, aiming to achieve tangible results to end Israeli violations in Gaza and alleviate the prolonged suffering of Palestinians.

President Widodo called for a complete ceasefire, stating that without it, the situation in Palestinian territories, particularly the civilian casualties, cannot improve.

He urged the OIC to find ways to persuade Israel to halt hostilities, facilitate humanitarian aid delivery, increase aid volume, and establish a sustainable distribution mechanism.

Expressing concern over the humanitarian situation in Palestinian territories, especially the targeting of hospitals in Gaza, President Widodo urged the OIC to use all available channels.

He urged immediate commencement of peace negotiations for a two-state solution, utilizing diplomatic pressure to defend Palestinian rights and achieve justice.
