RIYADH — Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan discussed with his American counterpart Antony Blinken the ways to stop the dangerous military escalation in Gaza as well as the necessity to adhere to any agreement for humanitarian truce and ceasefire.

They discussed the Gaza situation during a phone call that Prince Faisal received from Blinken on Wednesday evening. Their talks figured mainly on the efforts to bring humanitarian, relief and medical aid into Gaza to prevent further worsening of the humanitarian crisis.

During the talks, Prince Faisal reiterated Saudi Arabia’s categorical rejection of the forced displacement of the residents of Gaza. He also emphasized the necessity on the part of the international community to move seriously and effectively to confront all the ongoing violations by the Israeli occupation forces and their repeated violations of international laws, especially the humanitarian law.

The Saudi foreign minister highlighted the importance of the international community assuming its moral and principled responsibility towards adhering to international legitimacy resolutions, the latest of which was the UN Security Council resolution adopted last week, in a way that achieves credibility for the international system, maintains international peace and security, and prevents the causes of extremism and violence.
