Neurosurgeons at DSFH used a special surgery technique called Unilateral Biportal Endoscopic (UBE) Spine surgery which is a much newer technique that has become popular in recent years. It has been widely used in the treatment of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar degenerative diseases and greatly protects the spinal structure.

Introduced to Saudi Arabia by Dr. Khaled Abdulshafi in early 2021, this innovative minimally invasive procedure offers substantial advantages over traditional open spine surgery. The UBE Spine surgery technique allowed surgeons to see the surgical area directly, making surgeries precise and less invasive. The surgery was successful, and the patient is doing well and was set to be discharged after just 24 hours post-surgery with a personalized plan for follow-up physical therapy.
