RIYADH — Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, co-chaired the first meeting of the Executive Committee of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council.
During the meeting, the Saudi and Qatari heads of the Executive Committee stressed the importance of continuing coordination between the two sides in a way that meets the aspirations of the leadership and serves the interests of the peoples of the two countries. They also hailed the existing cooperation and coordination between the Council’s subcommittees and the task teams, which comes in preparation for the seventh meeting of the Council.
At the outset of the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed Al-Thani welcomed Prince Faisal and the accompanying Saudi delegation. This was followed by a review presented by the two task teams of the Council’s General Secretariat with regard to the preparatory work and the outputs of the subcommittees emanating from the Council and its task teams during the last period. The meeting also reviewed the objectives, initiatives and memorandums of understanding that are scheduled to be signed on the sidelines of the next meeting of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council.
The meeting was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Qatar Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan, Abdul Rahman Al-Daoud, director general of the Office of Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Eng. Fahd Al-Harthy, director general of the general administration of the secretariats of the councils and committees
