MOSCOW — Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to embark on a visit to the Gulf region on Wednesday, with scheduled meetings in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, the office of the Russian Federation announced on Tuesday.

Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, revealed that President Putin plans to engage in discussions with the leaders of both nations, focusing on key regional matters, notably the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, according to the Russian News Agency (TASS).

Peskov confirmed that Putin is scheduled to meet with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi during his official visit to Moscow on Thursday, reciprocating an earlier invitation.

Ebrahim Raisi's last visit to Moscow dates back to January 2022. The upcoming diplomatic engagements underscore Russia's active involvement in addressing critical issues within the Middle East region. — Agencies
