iRAP's regional office opens in Riyadh

RIYADH
— The General Roads Authority (RGA) has announced the opening of the International Road Assessment Program (iRAP)'s regional office in the Saudi capital Riyadh. The opening ceremony took place in the presence of RGA's acting CEO Eng. Badr Aldulami and the Chief Executive Officer of iRAP, Rob McInerney.

iRAP's office opening in Riyadh is considered to be an important step toward enhancing traffic safety in the region, and achieving the strategic objectives of the road sector, which are based on safety, quality and traffic density.

The office aims to spread awareness about traffic safety and improve its level in the Middle East and North Africa area. It will also assist partners in priority countries in developing policies and assessments related to traffic safety, which would reduce road accidents and deaths.

Furthermore, the office will organize and host events and initiatives for exchanging knowledge that will enhance traffic safety.

The International Road Assessment Program is one of the most prominent organizations in the fields of traffic safety assessment.

iRAP also provides a comprehensive set of services and activities to achieve improving safety on roads. The activities include monitoring improvement in the safety assessment, providing investment plans to raise the level of safety on existing roads and roads to be constructed.

It works on forging partnerships to apply modern technologies in the traffic safety field, in addition to providing technical training and support in the field of road safety engineering, as well as exchanging knowledge through national activities and forums.
