WASHINGTON — Under the leadership of Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan, the ministerial committee delegated by the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit conducted a press briefing for the international media.
The committee members underscored the critical necessity of an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and emphasized the protection of innocent civilians from the actions of the Israeli occupation forces.
They highlighted that discussions regarding the future of Gaza and the broader Palestinian issue should only take place after an immediate ceasefire and the de-escalation of the ongoing military aggression.
The committee members pointed out the evident inaction of the international community in addressing the ceasefire and urgent humanitarian solutions.
They warned that this lack of response would lead to an increase in casualties and further deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
The members urged immediate action to secure relief corridors for the swift and safe delivery of humanitarian, food, and medical aid to Gaza. They explicitly rejected any constraints on the timely entry of humanitarian assistance.
Additionally, the committee members emphasized that the current top priority for Arab and Islamic countries is the ceasefire, and they called on the international community, particularly the permanent members of the Security Council, to prioritize this urgent matter.
Simultaneously, the members stressed the immediate need for a reliable and serious roadmap to establish a Palestinian state in accordance with the principles of international legitimacy.
Such a road map should guarantee the dignity and sovereignty of the Palestinian people.
