OTTAWA — The Ministerial Committee of the Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit, led by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan, held official talks on Saturday in the Canadian capital with Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly.

The meeting also included the Foreign Minister of Palestine Riyad Al-Maliki, and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

During the talks, the participants discussed developments in the Gaza Strip and its repercussions, particularly the military escalation targeting civilians.

The Ministerial Committee reiterated the importance of an immediate and urgent ceasefire to ensure the return of security and stability to the region.

The Committee called for swift international action and emphasized the responsibility to protect innocent civilians from the Israeli occupation forces' lethal actions.

They stressed that discussions about the future of Gaza and the Palestinian issue should follow an immediate ceasefire and the de-escalation of unjustified military tensions.

The Committee emphasized the importance of taking serious and urgent steps to secure humanitarian, food, and medical aid corridors for the Gaza Strip.

They expressed their rejection of any restrictions on the swift and secure entry of humanitarian aid.

Members of the Committee underscored the importance of creating political conditions for the establishment of a Palestinian state along the borders of June 4, 1967, in accordance with relevant international resolutions.

They rejected the fragmentation of the Palestinian issue and the separate discussion of the future of the Gaza Strip from the broader Palestinian cause.
