RIYADH — Prince Fahad bin Jalawi, Vice President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Director of the Saudi Games, announced that the third edition of the Saudi Games will be held in 2024.
Prince Fahad announced this on behalf of Saudi Arabia's Sports Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki, during the concluding ceremony of the 2nd edition of the Saudi Games, which was held with the participation of more than 8,000 competitors in 53 sports.
The fans embraced the huge ceremony marking the end of the 2023 Saudi Games in an atmosphere full of excitement and enthusiasm after 15 days of strong competitions that was were held in 31 different locations.
During the closing ceremony, a video was presented highlighting the most prominent moments experienced by the players, trainers and the spectators in the tournament. Later the medal winners entered the venue to receive honors for their great achievements in this edition.
Prince Fahad has expressed his pride in the tremendous organizational success achieved by the Saudi Games, confirming that this achievement would not have been possible without the support and care of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman.
He also pointed out that this success is an embodiment of the inspiring vision of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, who supports sports and encourages youth, reflecting his keenness to develop society and open horizons of opportunities for talented people.
This is in addition to the trust and follow-up of the Minister of Sports, which was the motivation to achieve this success, Prince Fahad said.
Prince Fahad thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the largest national sporting event in the history of Saudi Arabia.
