VIENNA — A delegation comprising approximately 30 officials from 20 government agencies is currently participating in a high-level workshop in Vienna.
The delegation is spearheaded by Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Competitiveness Center (NCC) Dr. Majid Bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi,
This workshop, organized by the National Competitiveness Center in collaboration with the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), aims to explore collaboration opportunities between Saudi Arabia and international trade law.
Its primary focus is aligning commercial legislation in the Kingdom with the highest global standards, thereby bolstering trade while supporting sustainable development.
Among the delegates are Dr. Eman Bin Habbas Al-Mutairi, the Vice Minister of Commerce and CEO of NCC, Dr. Abdullah Bin Khalid Tawlah, the Saudi Ambassador to Austria, and Anna Joubin-Bret, secretary-general of UNCITRAL.
The agenda encompasses discussions on various global trade facets such as trade systems, transportation, and digital commerce.
The workshop aims to strategize ways to fortify cross-border trade, particularly in the realms of the digital economy, transportation, and logistics, contributing significantly to realizing the ambitious goals outlined in the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
Al-Qasabi offers condolences
on death of Sheikh Nawaf
Minister of Commerce Dr. Al-Qasabi today offered his condolences on the death of Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, former Emir of the State of Kuwait.
At the Kuwaiti embassy in the Republic of Austria, Al-Qasabi met with Ambassador to Austria Talal Suleiman Al-Fassam in the presence of the Saudi ambassador, Dr. Abdullah Bin Khalid Tola.
He offered sincere condolences to the Al-Sabah family and to the brotherly Kuwaiti people on the death of Sheikh Nawaf, who passed away after a career full of achievement and giving. — SPA
