RIYADH — Prince Faisal bin Salman, Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Chairman of the Board of Directors of King Abdulaziz Foundation, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of King Fahd National Library, visited the King Abdulaziz Public Library in Riyadh on Thursday. He was received by the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of King Abdulaziz Library and the General Supervisor of the Library, Faisal bin Muammar.
At the beginning of the visit, Prince Faisal reviewed the journey of King Abdulaziz Public Library since its inception in 1985, as well as the main projects and service systems provided by the library to beneficiaries and visitors. He also attended the Arabic Poetry Exhibition, organized as part of the celebration of the Year of Arabic Poetry 2023.
He listened to a brief explanation about the national cultural project for renewing the connection with books, the Encyclopedia of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Translation, Prince Mohammed bin Salman Prize for Cultural Communication with China, and many scientific and cultural projects that support research, writing, translation, and publishing.
During the visit, ways of cooperation between the King Abdulaziz Foundation, King Fahd National Library, and King Abdulaziz Public Library in the fields of knowledge, culture, and research were discussed.
He noted the role of King Abdulaziz Public Library as a knowledge partner and beacon of national culture, emphasizing the importance of continuing efforts to enhance the civilizational, cultural, and knowledge value at the national level in the Kingdom.
