Two dead, four injured in accident at Saudi Chemical Company's Atshanah factory

RIYADH
— A devastating incident occurred at a factory in Atshanah, north of Riyadh, at around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, resulting in two fatalities and four injuries.

The factory is owned by the Saudi Chemical Company Limited, a subsidiary of Saudi Chemical Company Holding.

"This tragic accident has deeply impacted the company and the community, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and wish a speedy recovery to the injured," the company said in a statement.

Initial damage assessments estimate the repair costs for the affected production line to be approximately SR10 million. The relevant authorities have been notified and are collaborating closely in the ongoing investigation to determine the cause of the accident. Concurrently, efforts are focused on repairing the damages and returning the production line to full operational status.

The company said it is dedicated to maintaining open communication and will issue further announcements as more information becomes available regarding this unfortunate event. "The safety of our employees and the efficiency of our operations remain our top priorities during this challenging time," it said.
