JEDDAH — The Riyadh region police confirmed that it has arrested a driver, who fled the scene, after deliberately hitting a motorcycle in Riyadh. The offender was arrested and was referred to the Public Prosecution after taking the necessary legal measures.

In a statement posted on its official X account, the Public Security announced the arrest of the driver who documented his act of hitting the motorcycle. The man was arrested after a video clip went viral showing a reckless driver deliberately ramming a motorcycle on a public road in Riyadh. Social media users shared the scene documented by the driver himself, describing his behavior as reckless with the lives of others and demanding that he be awarded with maximum punishment.

It is noteworthy that Article 63 of the Saudi Traffic Law stipulates that any driver, who is involved in a traffic accident, must stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident, notify the competent authorities, and provide possible assistance to those injured in the accident. If he does not do so, he will be punished with a fine not exceeding SR10000 or imprisonment for a period not exceeding three months or of both.
