CAIRO — Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority (GEA), announced on Wednesday the launch of the Big Time Investment Fund, designed to boost the quality of Arabic content across film production and distribution, featuring prominent Arab artists.
Al-Sheikh stressed that the GEA will act as the primary sponsor of the fund, with the Ministry of Culture as a co-sponsor. The initiative will also see contributions from several specialized firms, including Sela Studio, SMC Company, Rotana Audio Visual Co., and Benchmark Company. He noted that the fund's initial focus would be on investing in key Saudi, Gulf, and Arab film projects.
The announcement came during Al-Sheikh's visit to Egypt, where he engaged in a series of meetings with officials from both public and private sectors. These meetings were aimed at enhancing and solidifying cooperation in the entertainment and artistic fields between the two countries.
