8 tons of hoarded onions seized in Riyadh

RIYADH — The Ministry of Commerce seized eight tons of onions stored in a warehouse in Riyadh and obliged the establishment to immediately pump them to the markets.

Inspection teams from the ministry raided a warehouse of a commercial establishment in southern Riyadh that hoarded more than eight tons of onions. The ministry officials directed the warehouse staff to supply them directly to the markets to meet the shortage of the product.

The ministry followed up and supervised the process of pumping the seized quantities into the markets to facilitate its sale to consumers. The supervisory teams from the ministry continued their inspection tours of markets, warehouses, and commercial establishments to enhance compliance and protect the interests of consumers.
