RIYADH —
The Saudi Football Federation's Discipline Committee announced early Thursday that Al-Nassr player Cristiano Ronaldo had been suspended for one game and fined SR30,000 for provoking the fans of Al-Shabab.

This decision comes in response to a complaint filed by Al-Shabab, which also involved a request to the official broadcaster for the official footage of the incident.

The committee deemed the decision as final and non-appealable under Article 144 of the disciplinary code.

During the match against Al-Shabab on Sunday, as part of the 21st round of the Saudi Professional League, Cristiano Ronaldo engaged in another unsportsmanlike gesture toward the Al-Shabab fans after his teammate, Brazilian Anderson Talisca, scored the winning goal in the final minutes, concluding the match with a 3-2 victory for Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo's inappropriate action occurred when he approached the stadium stands and made an unsportsmanlike gesture toward the Al-Shabab fans, who had been chanting the name of Argentine Lionel Messi during their team's match against Al-Nassr in the Saudi league.

The Al-Nassr player performed the act after Talisca's goal sealed his team's victory in the last minutes when the match was poised for a draw.
